A neutral running shoe is a type of running shoe designed to provide cushioning and support for runners who have a neutral or normal pronation pattern. Pronation refers to the natural inward rolling motion of the foot that occurs during each stride.

Neutral pronation means that the foot rolls inward slightly upon landing, but not excessively. Runners with neutral pronation typically have a neutral arch shape, and their feet absorb shock efficiently, distributing it evenly throughout the foot.

Neutral running shoes are built with cushioning and support features that cater to the needs of neutral pronators. They offer a balance of cushioning and flexibility, providing shock absorption and stability without correcting or controlling the foot’s natural motion.
